On Friday November 9, 2018, Lab Atlanta took a VIP tour of the CNN Center. On this tour we got to see the studio for CNN en Español, the HLN control room, and another studio that CNN uses daily. During our tour we got to listen in on Chris Cuomo’s live morning news. Unfortunately, we didn’t get to speak with him. However, we did receive an audience with David Rust, a veteran photojournalist who shared his unparalleled collection of CNN memorabilia.

Mr. Rust has been a photojournalist at CNN since 1980. During that time, he has covered stories on all seven continents and in all fifty states, from presidential elections, to wars, to natural disasters, to peace-keeping missions and humanitarian efforts.

My personal models during our visit to the CNN Center.

We also got to ride the longest freestanding escalator in the world.

On this escalator we were 196 feet in the air.
This is a mock news room that we visited.
Hurricanes Oji, Kaylin, and LaMarshall.
To end our tour, we went to the CNN gift shop and took pictures in the mirrors.
