Lab Report #7 — What we find
Somehow people who use #appidea seem to be a bit insane so here are their ideas which somehow made it onto my site getmadideas.com
This is war, we must inspire the developers — Mad Steve
Expression -> Emoji — @Kevatron2000
Make me into an emjoi, detect the madness in my facial expression, see the way the glasses shimmer.
I am like a super-villain in an anime -> Emoji that.
I feel like the king of the world -> Emoji that.
Wow, hadn’t thought of that, we could call this: “Emoji that (face?)”.
Rename: Emoji that (face?)
Cool enough name, now on top of the picture there could be some keywords you enter which affect the way the emoji is rendered.
Maybe add “livid” and “super-evil” for extra dark circles, more shimmery glass-lenses and a stony look in the eyes with extra sharp mouth contour because of how evil and unhappy I am in this moment in time.
Perhaps I should go get a hotdog or one of those pieces of semi-real meat?
A/B Tinder — @sonu27
Tinder for this, tinder for that.
This is actually a good idea.
Tinder has a Tinder-like interface (swipe for X, swipe for Y) that could easily be used to pit two designs/UIs against each other.
I mean you can get more interesting insight using the tinder UI since you’re not just saying A>B but, I like A and B and C but not D.
Anyhow: a/b is good, therefore, it is good :D.
Goodnight Charger — @HubbyStupidIdea
We want kids to sleep, we want kids to sleep, we want kids to sleep
Really, this should exist and this should be applied to so many more things than kids putting their phones away at night.
Maybe have this in the office to know if someone is at their desk?
I think that’s a good idea, let’s discriminate people who have old-fashioned Nokias and only provide the latest Android and iPhone chargers.
Soup Please— @akohout
Don’t we all want a bit of comfort when we’re ill.
Surely Postmates should have a deal for loyal customers whereby if they order some type of food that is specifically designed for when you’re ill, you should get it for free.
Another way of implementing this in the real world where people actually don’t intend on running a soup delivering charity, just because it’s not viable as a business.
I guess we could crowdsource this, say your next-door neighbour delivers you some soup. It would just require a community of people who are willing to help, well… turns out, it would really just require a community.
:) let’s tackle the bigger problem and actually get to know the people who live in our building instead of getting free soup delivered by a massive corporation who skins us at every opportunity.
SecurPhoto — @faizanpatel
Wouldn’t we love this?
I think the only way to feasibly stop someone from getting something they don’t own is through physical force. Or the mighty arm of the law and billions of pounds (dollars, euros, pesos, barrels of crude oil, diamonds) in lawyer-power.
On a more serious note, something like this should be done, but possibly not exactly how Faizan thought about it. Deleting something in a remote location is difficult: how do you know it’s been deleted, how do you know it hasn’t been copied, do you need an internet connection to check for all this?
Now what we can do, is not give the full high resolution picture through.
Think of this: a low-res, watermarked, 200x200 photo is given to the client. Next when their deposit clears you give them an ok resolution picture without watermark and finally when they’ve paid you completely, you release the full pictures to them.
This would work by blocking in UX terms as well. Say this is implemented as a web platform. If you don’t have a “Download” link on the picture preview a lot of people won’t download that picture. Of course the watermarking and so on is necessary for people who are really motivated to get those pictures for free.
Anyhow: I just solved the problem with another system that probably wouldn’t work, but is more feasible, then again what do I know about feasibility.
Get me some Madness!!! And a bunch of #appideas will do as well — Mad Steve
That’s it for this time,
getmadideas.com is always open for business as is my twitter account @mad__idea
Hope you enjoyed the report,
