How working towards self-sufficiency is changing me

I have been growing my own food for five years now. Before that I was living in a densely populated city growing some veggies on the balcony that were enough to maybe supplement a few meals every other week. Five years ago, I moved to a rural acreage and started the journeys of trying to be as self-sufficient as possible. The goal was to eventually only eat what we can grow.
