Chiefs: Met Expectations

Chiefs and Chiefs fans,

If you told me at the beginning of the season that we would go 12-6 and win a game in the postseason for the first time in 14 years, I would take it. In fact, that was the expectation. We got Jeremy Maclin from Philadelphia, and we were ready for the playoffs.

What we were not ready for was how we got there. Going 1–5 and then running off 11 wins in a row before losing to the Patriots and their officials. What a wonderful last half of the season, not losing for three months, not since the Royals won the World Series.

31 teams must lose the last game of their season. The last game, we can’t jump a route, we can’t get a pick, and we can’t get Tom Brady’s jersey dirty. Justin Houston is out. Maclin is out, and the rookies and 2-years have to learn on the fly how to help out Alex Smith. Smith can’t draw a roughing the passer or a late hit call to save his life. The Tamba Hali tip to Edelman. Typical Patriots.

I’ll take it. The 2015 Chiefs took a stinker of a start and made it smell halfway decent. Can’t wait for our players to get healthy, our receivers to get a little more time with Alex Smith, and try again next year.
