One of the greatest gifts we can give yourself in this life is the gift of an antifragile mind. More than being resilient, the antifragile mind is flexible and able to grow and thrive under any circumstances. Someone with this mindset can overcome and become better, even when they find themselves in places that other people would sink. Tragedy, upset, heartbreak, disappointment, rage. All of these things are inevitable in life, and the antifragile mind helps us to navigate them and find ourselves, regardless.

What is an antifragile mind?

The idea of the “antifragile mind” was first proposed by Nassim Taleb, who viewed it as a mind that was capable of growth and resilient to the shocks and shambles of life. According to his description of this mind state, the antifragile person was one who thrived despite “volatility, randomness, disorder, and stressors…”. You’ve probably met people like this and admired them greatly in your life. You know the ones. Those who love adventure, risk, and uncertainty. Or, at the very least, those who can be authentic despite the tumbles of modern day living.
