The biggest question on Syracuse fan’s minds after their heartthrob loss to North Carolina is will the two of the outstanding freshman on the team will declare for the NBA draft or not.

Tyler Lydon has already stated after the game against UNC that he was “definitely” coming back for his sophomore season. Lydon averaged 10.1 ppg with 6.3 rpg and 1.87 bpg in his first year with Syracuse. He played a critical role off the bench for the ‘Cuse, and played a great big man in the center of the zone, ranking 5th in the ACC in blocked shots.

Malachi Richardson was silent in his post game interview about what his plans were on the upcoming draft. Richardson stated, “no comment” after a reporter asked him how he felt about the draft. Richardson is probably the biggest player that will determine the success of next year’s team. He averaged 13.4 ppg ranking second in the team behind Mike Gbinije (17.5).

It is less than 48 hours since Syracuse ended its season but, as fans, were going to want to find out Malachi’s decision sooner rather than later. Expect a week or two for him to figure it out, the deadline for underclassmen to declare for the draft is April 26, while we will be praying that he stays.
