SU Women’s Victory over Washington

In case you missed it, he SU Orange Women’s team won over Washington in the final four, and everyone is thrilled, except for the Washington fans, that is.

Fans went crazy last night on Twitter, Facebook, and any other form of social media, some I didn’t know existed. The Women’s SU team The Syracuse Orange are in the women’s basketball national championship game for the first time after cruising past Washington 80–59 in the Final Four on Sunday in Indianapolis.

This is great news for the SU fans watching both from the stadium seats as well as from their TV’s. The women’s team, who had not previously made it to the final four, has not only made it to the competition, but have one a section of it against Washington.

Washington entered the day in the midst of a remarkable 73-game win streak and had a 45-point average margin of victory in this year’s tournament. They’re the gold standard of women’s college basketball and, they were defeated by our very own SU.

I’m not a big sports person, but even I was excited when I heard about the team’s victory. Hopefully things will continue to go well for the SU Women’s team and they will be able to take this all the way.
