The Syracuse men’s basketball team’s impressive tournament run came to an end at the hands of the North Carolina Tarheels last night, triggering a number of colorful reactions from fans and haters alike.

Many made jabs toward the academic scandal the Orangemen were involved in.

While others expressed gratitude toward the players and coaching staff for their efforts.

In turn, the players showed some love to those who supported them through the ups and downs of their season. Tyler Lydon and Malachi Richardson both expressed their gratitude through post game tweets.

Despite their losing result, Syracuse fans now can focus on their women’s team, who will face UConn in the National Championship game on Tuesday. It is the first time in program history that the women of Cuse will compete for a national title. So, not all hope is lost in upstate New York for a Cinderella story to cap a Syracuse team’s season.
