Last week, I took on an 8-9 day product development challenge, sharing every step of the process publicly. Here’s what I learned and achieved.

The Beginning: Finding an Idea
The hardest part was deciding what to develop. Without a clear idea, I focused on Notion and Raindrop. Next, I chose the technologies I’d use.

Days 1-2: Coding and Layout Design
With limited time, I couldn't afford to spend long on ideation. I started coding basic components and designing the layout. This took about two days.

Day 3: Defining the Product
By the third day, I decided to create a site that archives useful links: unarkhivedotcom.

Day 4: Developing the Stack Module
On the fourth day, I developed the stack module to offer themed link collections each week. Check it out here.

Days 5-6: Design, Coding, and Testing
I continued designing and coding, sharing progress on Twitter. Check my updates here.

I decided on a name and handled domain setup, then tested components and functionalities.

Day 7: Writing and SEO Optimization
I spent the seventh day writing and optimizing the site’s text for SEO. This was the most challenging part, but I aimed for short, clear, and SEO-friendly content.

Day 8: Networking
On the eighth day, I networked with three people from the indie hacker ecosystem, gaining valuable feedback and connections.

Day 9: Live and Feedback
I launched the product, sent messages to potential users, and collected feedback. The first stack post, 13 Inspiring Open Source Portfolios, increased subscriptions, boosting my motivation. I also made UI/UX improvements and fixed typos.

Upcoming: Product Hunt Launch
This Saturday, I’ll launch my first product on Product Hunt. Until then, I’ll connect with experienced people and exchange ideas. I’ll cover this in my next article.

Thank you for reading! Support me by exploring unarkhive.com. 🖖
