Overview of current crypto-currency industry
In 2020, from the “Kondratiev wave theory” that we have been admiring, this year should be a year that the economy tends to decline. This year, some people may be able to obtain greater benefits from the fluctuations in asset prices in the entire market. .
Under the impact of the Cov-19 epidemic, global asset prices have fallen significantly. Since this time, the prices of US stocks, gold, and bonds have been reduced to a large extent.
Personally, I think digital currency is a good asset this year, such as Bitcoin. So it should be a better choice to stick to the digital currency industry this year. However, for our distributed storage industry, there will be a larger challenge with a larger opportunity.
The situation of the distributed storage industry
In the first half of the Lambda project planning, we will always follow the news of Filecoin. At present, Filecoin may continue to be postponed, and the network it uses to implement “Lotus” is essentially similar to Lambda’s current technology implementation, such as the technology already used on the Lambda main network-”VRF consensus”.
Our use of these technologies represents the current technology peak of distributed storage, and also represents the limitations of current technology. Distributed storage has attracted the attention of many people, and at the same time it will have many technical challenges. After undergoing three tests this year, Lambda’s mainnet will also have a test cycle of one month. We will give out more tokens to reward miners. We hope to fully launch the mainnet before the Filecoin project in advance.
Lambda’s core work this year
- The complete launch of the Lambda mainnet
The mainnet will go online as scheduled and complete token mapping. The premise of mapping at the same time is to complete the third storage test.
- Lambda mainnet supports issuing assets
Support the entrepreneurial team in the blockchain field. The new project party issues digital assets based on Lambda’s mainnet. Asset issuance involves collateralizing Lambda’s mainnet token and destroying the token.
At present, what can be disclosed are projects from Russia. What they did before was essentially issuing assets based on the Ethereum network. The project framework is data exchange. Now, the project side will transplant this project to the Lambda ecosystem, just like Steemit’s project migrated from the previous ecology to the Tron ecology.
We will also have other such Dapp projects, ecological projects, and application projects being developed and transferred to Lambda, especially for data-related projects.
- Lambda launches asset-related dApps and ecology
The issued digital assets can have specific use values. The focus on the use scenarios, from the previous focus on business and overall, to our current focus on the customer side, we believe that the future Dapp users will be the younger generation.
In March, storage-related applications based on the Lambda ecosystem will be released. The first is a dAPP with a content similar to a novel reading class. Its ecological class will have a built-in token, and this token is based on the Lambda mainnet. The data storage inside is based on Lambda’s distributed storage technology. We want to build a fan-oriented website for young people like “AO3” that will not be blocked and will not be captured.

Reviewing Lambda’s progress in the past two months
From the operation of the consensus network at the end of last year and our consensus nodes, and then the pledge of TBB formed the basis of the basic consensus network. Consensus nodes + declared capacity (or TBB pledge), formed a consensus from these two points The internet. In fact, the network has been running for almost four months. The Lambda main network can be understood as a basic consensus network composed of classes.
Next, we need to add the Lambda storage part to the consensus network. These two steps are separated, and part of it is our consensus network for capacity declaration. The second part of the real data storage introduced into this consensus is the “PoST proof”. Therefore, this step is very important, so we conducted the first two large-scale tests, during which a large number of participating miners participated in the test with us.
About the third stage of storage function test
The testing is the last phase before the mainnet storage function goes online. We have been preparing for a while and are currently doing internal testing.
Test objectives:
1. Need to verify the stability of the consensus network;
2. Verify and observe the entire network transaction situation;
(The certificates stored in us are counted as transaction transactions of the entire network, and it is confirmed whether the entire consensus network will effectively reduce the efficiency or wait for these unstable factors when processing a large amount of business.)
3.Scenarios;
(At present, many Dapps on the market do not solve some practical problems, including many public chains. We apply to C which must be available, and then use it to verify the situation on the entire blockchain.)
Lambda is a public blockchain with a basic API, including the functions of smart contracts and corresponding storage functions that are updated later. The network is gradually perfected later, so its computing and storage networks are all available.
Next, we will focus on the incubation of some new applications, so it is also important to test the joint testing of the application layer in this phase.
The storage test rules:
- The role of storage testing
The third phase will test content such as file management for data recovery or order processing efficiency. We will also observe performance indicators.
The storage miner itself has two roles, one is miner and the other is storage node. Therefore, we will also care about the docking of storage with storage, and strive to organize these hardware resources in an optimal way.
There will be two roles to participate in the test, one is the introduction of nodes to participate in the test, and the other is the storage miner.
- Reward details
We designed rewards to encourage more work and more. The total bonus is 3 million Lambda mainnet tokens, the consensus nodes are about 1 million, and the storage miners are about 2 million.
According to the actual number of main network Lambdas dug out in the test network, it corresponds to storage miners. For example, 10 miners, and then he digs out the entire block, and then divides 2 million tokens according to their proportion of 10 miners.
For nodes, one thing that is special is that there is a coefficient. When you allocate tokens, you need to multiply by a coefficient. This coefficient refers to the declared capacity stored under this node, that is, the pledge capacity (TB pledge capacity) and your actual computing power will have a proportional coefficient. For example, you declare the capacity of a PB, but actually only access one T. At this time, your coefficient is very low, and the relative returns of the nodes will be low, because from the perspective of Lambda’s economic model, the higher returns should be from The nodes with higher contribution are obtained.
- Timeline
Beginning at about 2 pm on Wednesday, the consensus node can run up and then run at a height of about 20,000 blocks, and then the storage miners can access it again (it takes about a day to reach the 20,000 block height.).
Miners have sufficient preparation time and are connected to the network. Of course, this time this node can be a previous node or a node that you want to join later. If you just want to study how this node works, you can also run a secondary node.
Regarding the storage test, I hope that we can get it done in a month. The time is still very tight. Because there are many applications to be released based on Lambda, we need to test the storage as soon as possible and complete it before going online.
Official website progress
The new version of the official website will be launched in the past two days. We will pay more attention to community building and document management, especially the services of github, docs.lambdastorage.com and zendesk.
FAQs
Q: Does test mining depend on access capacity or data capacity?
A: It should be considered in terms of effective computing power, that is, the data capacity. The data capacity is the same as the previous two tests. The test mining revenue depends on the access capacity. To judge whether the data is available, look at the data to see the computing power.
Q: Does the miner have a plan to adjust the token supply?
A: Regarding the economic model, it will not be particularly easy to change it. There were actually parameter settings before, and the governance committee proposed to discuss this matter.
Q: Will it be mapped before mainnet?
A: Map after formal mining.
Q: How to become a miner?
A:
Step 1: Pledge
You need to make a capacity statement. One of the prerequisites for participating in the first-level consensus is that you declare the capacity, that is, to pledge TBB. At this time, you become a miner equivalent to a pledge. You start to get paid.
We will have the new instruction soon to share with all.
Step 2: Mining
If you have storage mining plans, or start-up investment, that is to connect to physical machines or any machine, you can provide data storage services. At this time when you connect to the network, you will get storage mining Part of the income is then equivalent to getting two parts of the income in the end, one is the pledge income and the other is the storage mining income.
For example, if you declare a capacity of 100T, what you actually access is 1T, which is the income from your storage and mining, and 100T, which is the portion of your pledge.
In fact, the actual stored data capacity in the network, regardless of storage requirements or access to early miners, will not be particularly large. In the early days, there may not be much capacity, and your storage mining benefits are still considerable.
I also suggest that the technical team share their service guides with the community so that everyone can more easily access the actual mining machine.
Q: I am now a miner. If I want to be a validator in the future, how do I join the test?
A: For example, whether you have become a node or not, you can participate in the test. You openly apply for an address and then apply for TBB. The TBB of the testnet says that you want to become a node. For example, you need 667 TBBs. Then you follow the instructions of the node’s package to start the node. At this time, you need to run a Standalone server, and your nodes will be visible in the node list.
At this time you are a node, and then you are a miner. Your tested miner can also be assigned to your own node, and then mining.
Q: Is there a community meeting every Monday?
A: The meeting of LCAC has been suspended for a long time. We will report important progress and discuss some issues with you through ZOOM.
Q: When does Kangbo Exchange map or withdraw tokens?
A: Because the mainnet consensus network has been tested for several months now, relatively no problems have occurred. We will coordinate with kangbo, and it should be able to activate the token withdrawal function.
After that, if the mainnet storage goes online, after a relatively stable operation, we will apply for Huobi or some other exchanges to apply for ERC-20 mapping to avoid accidents.
