Men’s Soccer (1–2–2): Longwood will come into their final two tune ups before Big South play begins looking for their first win of September after dropping a 2–0 decision at Old Dominion early last week. Jon Atkinson’s squad will only hit the pitch once this week for a Tuesday road trip at Navy, who has dropped two straight. Longwood has not played the Midshipmen since 2012 when they dropped a 3–0 decision in Farmville.

Last Week: L 2–0 at ODU
This Week: 9/23 at Navy

Women’s Soccer (4–3–1): Todd Dyer’s Lancers extended an impressive road winning streak to eight wins with a 1–0 victory over Howard early in the week, but saw the streak snapped Sunday losing 4–1 at VCU despite a 1–0 first half lead. Games become more important this week as Big South play begins with a road trip to Coastal Carolina and a home match up with Winthrop. Coastal was picked one slot behind Longwood, fourth, in the Big South Preseason Poll, while Winthrop was picked sixth. Longwood beat both the Chants and the Eagles a year ago.

Last Week: W 1–0 at Howard, L 4–1 at VCU
This Week: 9/24 at Coastal Carolina, 9/27 vs Winthrop

Field Hockey (3–5, 1–2): Longwood grabbed their first ever MAC win on Thursday with a 4–1 win over Missouri State in Farmville, but then heartbreak set in for the Lancers once again. Longwood dropped a 1–0 overtime loss at Georgetown Saturday which marked the third overtime loss of the year for the Lancers. Longwood will play three straight non-conference games before their next MAC contest at Central Michigan on October 5.

Last Week: W 4–1 vs Missouri St, L 1–0 at Georgetown
This Week: 9/26 vs Towson, 9/27 vs Vermont

Men’s Golf: Congratulations to Blake Carter who won the Cornell Invitational at the Robert Trent Jones Golf Course at Cornell with a 5-over-par showing at 218 (73–70–75)! Carter won by a single stroke and Longwood finished seventh as a team in the 15 team field.
