Men’s Soccer (1–3–2): Longwood’s winless streak extended to 5 games with a 2–0 loss at Navy this past week. The Lancers are looking to end September with a win over George Washington at home on Tuesday before kicking off conference play Saturday at Winthrop. The Eagles were picked second in the Big South preseason poll and Longwood beat them 2–1 in Farmville a year ago.

Women’s Soccer (5–4–1, 1–1): Todd Dyer’s squad kicked off Big South play with a split this past week. First Longwood lost at Coastal Carolina 2–1 in an overtime heart-breaker. The Lancers then came home to blank Winthrop 2–0, which was Longwood’s third shutout of the year. Longwood will play their final non-conference game this week against Division I Independent Francis Marion before heading to play rival Radford this weekend. The Highlanders were picked second, one spot in front of Longwood, in the Big South preseason poll.
