Longwood released their full non-conference slate today for the 2017–18 season and it fills the non-Division I voids that we didn’t have listed.

Here is the full non-con slate:

Nov 10 vs Stephen F. Austin
Nov 14 vs Columbia
Nov 18 vs St. Francis (PA)
Nov 21 at UNC Greensboro
Nov 22 vs Delaware (UNCG Tournament)
Nov 26 vs NC Wesleyan
Nov 29 vs Bluefield State
Dec 2 vs Fayetteville State
Dec 9 at VMI
Dec 13 at Illinois
Dec 16 vs Cornell
Dec 19 at Arizona State
Dec 21 at Grand Canyon

Takeaways

  • No Hampden-Sydney game. The Tigers will travel to Davidson in the slot they usually play us this year.
  • SEVEN + NINE = The most jam-packed slate ever. Longwood has never had this many home games in recent memory and Division I home games at that.
  • FLOW: The season opens with three straight home games against pretty comparable opponents and all three games are probably a toss up. It’s huge those games come in Willett. The UNCG tournament will also be a great barometer too and then Longwood, hopefully, will get to beat up on some Non-D1s before a really challenging December slate.
  • Early Prediction: 6–8… With the three non-D1s and the comparable games in November and in December with VMI and Cornell, the Lancers could be sniffing a .500 record heading into Big South play.
