Longwood lost 67–58 to Coastal Carolina today in the HTC Center, here are our instant reactions:

- Longwood had an atrocious shooting night as they went just 33% from the field and were 2-for-18 from three. It’s incredible that this game was as close as it was given those numbers. The Lancers shot just 21% in the first half and were down by 13. The energy just wasn’t there in the first, but Longwood responded to play a decent second half.

- Lucas Woodhouse, TT Carey, and Karl Ziegler were the catalyst for the bad shooting night. The trio combined to go 8-for-35 from the field or 22.9%. I guess the good news is that it will be a hard performance to replicate in the future.

- On the positive side Longwood played pretty solid defense, especially in the second half. The Lancers forced 16 turnovers and had 10 steals and 2 blocks.

- Lucas Woodhouse had 4 assists tonight which was enough to break the Longwood single season assist record, which he set last year with 180 helpers. Congratulations to Lucas! Hopefully this turns into an annual occasion.

- DJ Allen got his first start of his career tonight as Leron Fisher came off the bench. The freshman had a solid night as he went 5-for-9 from the field and had 12 points, which ties his career high.

- Jeylani Dublin had another good night off the bench with 11 points and 3 boards.

- Isaac Belton got a lot of playing time tonight and the freshman posted 9 points, his highest total since the November 24 game against Penn State.

Longwood will now look to rebound hosting Winthrop on Wednesday in Willett Hall.
