A healthy Dae Dae Brown should give Longwood quite the boost in the 2014–15 season[/caption]

There will be no magical Big South run for Bill Reinson and his Lady Lancers this year in Myrtle Beach. Longwood fell today 54–40 to the seventh seeded Presbyterian Blue Hose in the first round of the Big South Tournament at the HTC Center in Conway, South Carolina.

Longwood had quite a promising 3–1 start to the season, knocking off Big East member Xavier in November. Unfortunately what was looking to be a tremendous campaign was derailed by key injuries to Daeisha Brown and Raven Williams. Brown had lingering injuries for most of the season but still posted an impressive season with 15.3 points and 4.9 rebounds per game through the regular season. Williams also added 11.2 points and 3.3 assists per outing.

The Lancers also faced some tremendous adversity off the court this season and we could not be more proud of the resiliency they showed throughout the season.

The good news is that this squad was comprised of five freshmen and seven sophomores. Heather Tobeck, a 6'4 forward, was a the lone senior for the Lancers. This team will continue to mature and should be one of the better teams in the Big South next year if everyone remains at one hundred percent.
