It was the women’s team’s turn for a historic win Thursday night as Bill Reinson’s Lady Lancers grabbed their first win over a power conference team taking down Xavier 67–64 on the road.

Longwood went up 33–22 at the half and held their lead until just about a minute left in the game. Heather Tobeck then had the shot of the night nailing a three pointer with just under 30 seconds left to cement the win for the Lancers. Tobeck would finish the evening with 13 points and 15 rebounds.

Daeisha Brown was once again the story for the Lancers. She came into the night averaging 15 points, 7.3 rebounds, and just over 2 assists per game. Tonight Brown dropped 26 points, 6 rebounds, and 5 assists on the Musketeers.

Longwood now move to 3–1 on the year and will play next at in-state rival George Mason on Tuesday.
