Add another local Atlantic 10 team to the 2019–20 schedule for Longwood basketball as the squad will travel to our nation’s capital on December 28 for a match up with George Washington. The trip to Foggy Bottom will be the Lancers first since visiting November 24 where the Colonials won 91–66. Longwood is 1–3 against the Colonials since joining the Division I ranks. The sole win came in 2009 in Farmville.

This season marks a new era, once again, for George Washington as former Mount St. Mary’s and Siena head coach takes over the reins for a team that went 9–24 a year ago. The game will also have a bit of Big South flavor as the Colonials are set to feature Charleston Southern transfer Armel Potter.

GW is the second A10 team Longwood will face. The Lancers will head to George Mason on November 9 earlier in the year. Longwood is also expected to host Maryland-Eastern Shore and the Citadel this season and play Delaware State, Stetson, Northern Illinois, UC Riverside, and Pacific on the road.
