Longwood to Play UT-Martin in Bracketbusters

2013 Bracketbusters: A first and last for Longwood[/caption]

This will be the last year ever for Bracketbusters but the first year ever for Longwood. It was announced today that Longwood will hit the road to take on the Skyhawks of the University of Tennessee-Martin on February 23.

UT-Martin is a member of the Ohio Valley Conference and is currently 6–16 and 3–7 in the OVC. KenPom.com currently has the Skyhawks ranked at 327th in the country. They Skyhawks are coming off a huge victory against conference power Eastern Kentucky though.

Former Longwood coach Cal Luther, who coached the Lancers from 1981 to 1990 also coached at UT Martin from 1990–99 during the Skyhawks transition to DI.

It has been customary in the past that the road team gets a return game the next year as part of the Bracketbusters set up. It’s still up in the air if the Skyhawks will visit Longwood next year with this being the last year of Bracketbusters.
