Longwood has released their full 2019–20 non-conference slate this morning. The first two months of the season will feature 13 games with five of those games being hosted inside Willett Hall.

Here is a look at the schedule:
Nov. 5 vs Marymount (Non-D1)
Nov. 8 at George Mason
Nov. 12 vs Maryland-Eastern Shore
Nov. 14 vs St. Francis (Brooklyn)
Nov. 15 vs Randolph (Non-D1)
Nov. 18 at Nothern Illinois
Nov. 26 at UC Riverside
Nov. 29 at Pacific
Dec. 4 at North Carolina A&T
Dec. 7 at Morgan State
Dec. 15 at Stetson
Dec. 19 vs The Citadel
Dec. 28 at George Washington

Schedule Notes:

  • Scheduling was a bit harder to put together this year with Longwood’s non-conference success last year and upsets against Richmond and Southern Miss. LU is in a weird space now where in-state mid-majors aren’t as interested in home and home matchups.
  • A lot of newcomers are going to get a baptism by fire this season with six games coming within the first 13 days of the season. Four of those games come at home, but the back-to-back games against St. Francis and Randolph are a bit odd. The last time that happened, outside of a tournament, was when the Lancers took on South Carolina State and Virginia on back-to-back days in December of 2011.
  • Out of the three Division I home games, St. Francis (NY) is the only squad that had a winning record last year. The Terriers went 17–16 a year ago, while going 9–9 in NEC play.
  • The matchups with Morgan State and North Carolina A&T will likely be returned to Willett for the 2020–21 season.
  • UMES, the Citadel, and Stetson are all rematches from last season. Longwood won all three of those games a year ago. The Lancers match up at Delaware State seems to have fallen through this season.
  • Last year’s schedule only featured four weekend home games for the traveling Lancer faithful. That number may be even lower this year with no weekend games in the non-con slate.
  • The 18 game Big South schedule is expected to be released later this week.
