Luke Lawson is back on the market after de-committing from Mount St. Mary’s when Jamion Christian left his alma mater to become the new head coach at Siena. It seems like a new decision on Lawson’s future could come as early as today.

Lawson’s high school coach Patrick Damron has been very vocal in the whole process. He was the original source for Lawson choosing between Longwood and the Mount. He also waged a pretty swift war with the Mount after Lawson didn’t receive a swift release upon Christian’s departure by contacting reporters at ESPN.

The choice for Lawson now includes Longwood, UNC Asheville, and Division II King University. He’s also been offered a prefer walk-on spot at Virginia Tech. Asheville’s Mike Morrell is no doubt a smooth operator and skilled recruiter, but the Bulldogs have already signed a couple of players this year in Lawson’s mold.

Longwood’s new system and current roster make up would allow Lawson to be a unique threat for the Lancers. With guard play seemingly shored up, Lawson would have the ability to immediately compete for playing time and bomb from the wing for four years.

We’ll keep you posted.
