Matt Becht, a new target for Longwood

The late fallout from Jamion Christian leaving Mount St. Mary’s for Siena continues. As one door closed for Longwood, losing Luke Lawson to UNC Asheville, another door just opened.
In the new math equation that is Longwood Basketball, Bishop O’Connell’s Matt Becht would be the perfect fit. The 6'2 gunner averaged 14.3 points per game this past year with 73% of that scoring coming from beyond the arc.
Mount St. Mary’s is still an option and the Mount just hired former Division III head coach Dan Engelstad. There is no doubt that the local product would be a great get for Longwood though.
