Baseball (14–23,4–11): Baseball has been on quite the skid dropping nine straight games and getting swept by rival Liberty this past weekend. The team has been in games but just can’t seem to get over the hump and win their first contest since March. If Longwood wants to breakthrough this week then they’ll need to to it on the road.

Last Week: L 4–1 at Virginia Tech, L 10–4, L 8–5, L 6–1 vs Liberty
This Week: 4/15 at Norfolk State, 4/17–19 at VMI

Softball (30–9,14–3): Last year’s record setting win total may be in jeopardy as Kathy Riley’s squad continues to pile up wins. It was jam packed week on the softball field which resulted in sweeping Hampton, taking a series from Campbell, and getting a big split in an NCAA Regional rematch against JMU. Longwood has a big series looming next weekend at Coastal Carolina against the Big South’s other top team.

Last Week: L 4–2, W 5–1 at JMU, W 8–1, W 16–1 vs Hampton, W 6–1, W 8–0, L 3–2 vs Campbell
This Week: 4/15 vs Elon (DH), 4/18–19 at Coastal Carolina

Lacrosse (7–7, 4–0): Lacrosse is back at .500 on the year after taking down Presbyterian and Campbell at home this week. Longwood, Davidson, and High Point are all tied at 4–0 in Big South play this season but that will change this week when High Point comes to Farmville. Three conference games remain and if the Lancers can win two out of three of those games then there is a good chance that the Big South Tournament will be played in Farmville.

Women’s Golf: The women’s Golf team will bring back some hardware from The Patriot Golf Club at Grand Harbor in Ninety-Six, S.C. where the Big South Tournament is being played. Amanda Steinhagen was named to the All-Conference Team, Courtney Tolton made the All-Freshman Team, and Hannah Pierce was named All-Academic.
