Yes, we’re these type of people to whom a week might feel like a month (or two), but who cares when we’re bringing you our latest Landbot Weekly-Monthly-Yearly Review? Woohoo! 🎉

This is the first review of a React-based landbot. As you know, some weeks ago we launched the implementation of Javascript’s framework React, which would not only make the whole UX smoother and way more compatible, but allow us to add, among others, the following features:

  • Back button. If you hover any button or even the textbox of a landbot, you’ll see a little button appear containing an arrow. When clicking on it, the flow will move ‘a step backwards’, leading you to the previous choice.
  • Scroll button. When the conversation is longer than what the screen can show, you’ll see a little white button on the bottom right. If click it, the landbot will scroll down to the last message!
  • Wider chat. Now we take advantage of desktop landbots with a wider interface that allows us to deliver information more efficiently.

Today we’ll be reviewing 18 Coffees’ Landbot. 18 Coffees is a defines itself as a ‘community-driven digital strategy & innovation firm that helps mission-driven companies own the future’.

Purpose

As almost any given web, this landbot’s purpose is telling everyone what is 18 Coffees all about, show their team and some of their work, and finally, getting leads (they cleverly score) to be managed by their — human — team.

Content

It starts with Welcome Message to describes what the company is about, followed by asking their name and to engage with visitors using dynamic fields and asking email to keep you posted. Classic beginning! 👏

Then, it follows a simple structure like the following:

  • Menu. It gives some options so users can select between hiring their services, meeting the team or knowing more about what they offer.
Check our brand new back button!
  • Contact / Qualification. If you click on “I need some help”, the landbot will provide you with a bunch of different topics so they can better understand what your needs are. Right after, they’ll tell you someone from their team to reach you at the email provided — hopefully through a powerful API Request block straight to their inbox — and finally offer you some content.
  • Farewell. They say Goodbye but give you the opportunity to leave your email once more!

There are a couple of things I really like about this chatbot. First, its soft scoring. It asks you what do you need help with, and 18 Coffees can use this information in two different ways: to do customer discovery and get to understand which services are more demanded, where and by what type of people. Also, they can perform lead scoring (e.g. only following up with people who pick services with the highest ROI).

Love customization: be aware of who you’re talking to!

Second, the customization: there’s a certain point in the flow when, before starting the explanation of their services and vision, they ask you if you want to hear buzzwords or plain English.

Not much more to highlight here, love the way they use pictures for the team members, though, adding hyperlinks to their LinkedIn profiles which is really clever!

Design

You can tell they’re an agency because they treat design very carefully and the result is just beautiful! Love the combination of that black and white background and aquamarine buttons — definitely one of my colors, folks! ❤️

Also, you might have noticed how their avatar and logo are different! Full 18 Coffees for header’s logo but just ‘18’ when it comes to the avatar. ‘How’s that possible?’. Well, they know how to play with CSS, adding it to the Style Editor inside the Design configuration of the landbot!

And what about those capital letters on buttons! That’s more HTML, bro! And it works really really good, differentiating your landbot from every other landbot out there, love it.

Finally, as we previously mentioned, they’re using both corporate images for the team members and catchy and funny GIFs to reinforce their speech when necessary. Great jobs, guys!

Power-ups

Now, a couple of things — that were actually difficult to come up with — that could make 18 Coffees’ landbot slightly better! There we go:

  • Asking the same information twice. We’re aware our ‘field_exists’ feature hasn’t been released yet, but it can happen that you get asked twice for your email in the flow. Not a big deal!
  • Texts are sometimes too long. They feel long on desktop and even longer on mobile. And this also affects to “typing” or loading times, which may cause a bit of frustration among users. Try going to the chase, this is a conversation and not a monologue! (JK).

People running, little boys crying, unanimous mourning… Yes, our review has just ended but that only means we’ll be back with more awesome Landbots to inspire you!

Thank you very much for your time and again, please hit us at hi@landbot.io if you want your very own Landbot to be featured here. 📸

See you soon buddy, change and bot! 🤘
