Before scouring the internet to look for examples you need to understand what to keep an eye out for. There are certain common design elements that are worth paying attention to.

Construction of the call to action

One of the most important elements of any landing page is the call to action. Here is what you can learn from the CTA’s of other landing page examples:

  • Placement: the area on the landing page where the CTA is located is just as important as how it is written. Ideally a CTA should be located where it can easily be noticed. Above the fold is desirable so that the potential customer doesn’t need to scroll down. You’ll notice that the majority of product pages have the buy button towards the top of the product description.
  • Content: the CTA must be attractive and clearly indicate what you want the user to do. If you want them to buy a product right there, then indicate that via a button that says “Buy Now”. On the other hand, if you’re after new email newsletter subscription then ask them to sign up.
  • Size: a CTA must be sized so that it can be noticed right away on a page. When looking at examples you can pay attention to the size of a CTA to see what works for others. However, doing your own testing is also a great idea to achieve the best possible conversion rate.

Minimalist design

You’ll notice that an increasing number of landing pages use a minimalist design. These work because they remove all distractions from the page so that the lead can concentrate on the most important aspect — the offer.

To figure out how to construct a minimalist page take a look at a few of these examples. You might have thought that adding more elements to a page gets the job done better. However, through testing and analytics you can quickly notice that a much better conversion rates can be achieved by including less.

Branding elements

Other than selling on a landing page you need to always be branding yourself. This ensures that your products and services can be associated with your brand. In future just the sheer mention of the brand may get people excited to see what’s on offer.

However, people commonly make mistakes with branding, or simply don’t do it at all. Take a look at some of the top brands in your industry and pay attention to how they have executed their branding. It’s a good idea to follow suit so that you can gain the benefits they have enjoyed.

When building an online business branding is one of the ways to succeed for the long term. Products can come and go, but your brand will be around to stay for the long haul. Therefore, it is a no-brainer to invest in it from the start.
