The Tower needs more from music world

Editor — I’m Joel Williams. Some know me to be a Hip-Hop enthusiast, others just a good friend. What I am writing you to tell — or rather suggest to you — is to include a column in the paper that reports only on news in the entertainment or Hip-Hop world.

It has long been my dream to work as a Hip-Hop or music journalist by day and produce music by night. Half of that dream has come to fruition, the other half is still in progress.

I looked over a copy of the Laney Tower from last semester (Fall ‘14). I was proud and happy to see the few articles relating to music on campus, but what about the music that is out there in the
world?

What if the Laney Tower covered topics relating to music outside of the college’s campus? Like a bi-weekly album review section or a new artist introduction/ spotlight?

I think this would be a great way to reach out to a different demographic of students and showcase or “put on” a different generation of artists as well.
