Dina Della Ducata, MS, PHR, has been appointed Chief Executive Officer of Family Service Association of Bucks County effective December 10. In this role, Della Ducata will have the responsibility of advancing and expanding the strategic direction of Family Service in addition to overseeing day-to-day operations. Della Ducata will report to the board president and will be accountable to the full board of directors of Family Service.

Della Ducata brings more than 25 years of diversified experience with a strong track record of success in the behavioral health field. She is currently a senior executive in Philadelphia at Citizens Acting Together Can Help, Inc. (CATCH), a non-profit agency providing community behavioral health and intellectual disability services. Della Ducata has dedicated her life’s work to serving the needs of the most vulnerable populations.

In addition, she is an active community leader and serves on the boards of several local non-profits including St. Rita of Cascia National Shrine, Casa Farnese Housing for Seniors, Michaels Helping Hand (founding board member) and Adelphia Lions Club, Philadelphia Chapter. Della Ducata is also a member of the prestigious Forum of Executive Women.

Della Ducata and her husband of 10 years, Salvatore, reside in Cherry Hill, New Jersey. She earned her bachelor of arts in political science from Seton Hall University and her master of science in healthcare and hospital administration from St. Joseph’s University. She also earned her human resources certification from Villanova University and holds a Professional in Human Resources (PHR) designation from the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM).

Della Ducata will succeed interim CEO Marlene Piasecki, who assumed the role in February of 2018 after the sudden loss of longtime CEO Audrey J. Tucker. Piasecki, who has served with distinction since her appointment, will continue in a key leadership role to ensure an orderly transition.

“I would like to acknowledge and thank Marlene Piasecki and the Family Service team for leading us through a challenging period in 2018 with the sudden loss of our longtime CEO and beloved leader and friend, Audrey Tucker,” says board president Joe Bondi.

Family Service’s mission is to listen, care and help. Last year, the nonprofit organization helped more than 30,000 members of the Bucks County community by providing a wide range of services including emergency housing, suicide prevention, parent education, counseling, recovery support and much more.

Della Ducata’s priority is to successfully lead Family Service through a period of significant change, and she will focus on helping the organization grow and expand to help those most in need in our community.

“I consider myself very fortunate to have the opportunity to lead this great organization,” said Della Ducata. “I am excited about working closely with Family Service’s talented team and its distinguished board of directors to fulfill the important mission of Family Service.”

The role of chief executive officer does not come without its challenges.

“While Family Service is a strong and stable organization, there are many hurdles we will face, as will all non-profits, including funding uncertainty, growing demand for services, increasing cost and complexity, new regulatory requirements and competition for the very best talent,” acknowledged Della Ducata. However, she believes that “Family Service, with its exceptional team and a diverse, fully engaged board of directors, is very well positioned to meet these challenges.”

“We are very fortunate to have someone with Dina’s leadership qualities, experience and passion to serve others joining Family Service,” said Bondi. “Her extensive background in behavioral health and her experience leading through change will serve us well.”
