The number one question I get asked about learning Finnish is when (or if) I’ll move to Finland.
The Finnish language is so intrinsically satisfying to me, that the results are not contingent upon externalized rewards. This includes career opportunities or immigration outcomes. I’ve learned Finnish 100% outside of Finland with unwavering perseverance.

My boss Peter’s wooden sailboat Cherub was bobbing up and down in Sydney Harbour on a windless, cloudless day. Not even a slight breeze to fill the sails.
