The Illusion of Free Will II

I had a crazy dream today. I don’t remember the details of the dream but the message was so clear and powerful. The basic premise was that we, human beings are programmed/ trained, in a manner similar to animals. For instance, imagine an animal that is given a shock after a particular activity such that the activity is extinguished. Other activities can be rewarded so that they are encouraged. The animal will ultimately only do what was reenforced and never perform those activities that were extinguished. Ultimately, we live lives that are prescribed. We believe that we have free will and are choosing particular actions but these patterns are simply habits that are dictated by our programming. The concept of the movie “Inception” also came to mind. An idea that is planted so deeply in our subconscious that then dictates how we conduct our lives. There is no free will!

This of course begs the question: Why? I don’t know & ultimately don’t care. I can now clearly see the patterns in my life that landed me in the very same predicaments. It’s completely out of my control. So what can I do? What do I do? This all comes back to Jed’s point: Just do what you do but don’t place any importance on it. It doesn’t matter!

We’re all like walking automatons suffering from the delusion that we have control over our lives and are actively making decisions. Bullshit! This is why some people (of course we’re great at seeing everyone else’s madness but are blind to our own and likewise unable to see the big picture/ the web in which we are entangled) seem so blind to what appears to be so obvious to everyone else. They are simply playing out their programming and are not able to see anything else even though it’s bitch-slapping them onto their asses day in and day out. WTF?!

I get it now. This idea really puts it all together. This is why any form of resistance is futile. The lines/script are already written & our program is to read them. There’s no way out of that. However, there is Consciousness, the awareness that it’s all happening and that we are simply movements of energy or thought patterns. Freedom lies in truly letting go of EVERYTHING and observing these movements with indifference, non-attachment. Perhaps the simulation or dream world collapses once the belief in it is let go of? Perhaps when we truly let go of everything, it allows the dreamer/ Consciousness to awaken within this dream state. It isn’t us, the dream characters that wake up, it is Consciousness. Perhaps this is what we are ultimately afraid of: Our irrelevance as dream characters. Hence we hold onto this dream state with dear life and keep the game going. Is that such a bad thing? Well that depends on what kind of dream you’re in. Don’t throw the baby out with the bath water!

I am an emergency physician, writer and a lover of life. The purpose of this blog is to share my ideas, experiences and perspectives as they relate to Consciousness, and as they evolve. Consciousness encompasses everything in my life, your life, the world, the Universe — in other words — EVERYTHING! As the great Shaman Don Diego used to say: “It’s not the most important thing, and it’s not the least important thing…It’s the ONLY thing!”

Check out my novel: “The Twin Flames, the Master, and the Game”! It’s available on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and Balboa Press.
