Week 32 recap
I had to look at my calendar to figure out what week’s recap this was… 31, 32, 33…. I’m pretty much rounding 3rd base now. Also, the end of 32 weeks was two days ago. Sue me for being late with this post.
- Definitely larger this week. Big news… I know.
- This last week I grew her some finger nails.
- My blood volume has increased 40–50% since I started growing this human. Here’s what babycenter.com is trying to encourage me with: Your expanding uterus shifts your center of gravity and stretches and weakens your abdominal muscles, changing your posture and putting a strain on your back.
- I’m watching the USA Women’s Gold-winning Olympic gymnast team (is it Gold-winning, women’s olympic gymnast team? or Gold medalist gymnast team? Frick. This baby has no hope.) right now as I right this and am thinking… do I want my baby to be an Olympian. I mean like… I do. But also, uhhhh it sounds so expensive for an extra curricular. I’m already having to pre-budget crap like braces and glasses. But also, you reach for the gold, baby girl. But just do it metaphorically, maybe? Like in school.
- I had a dream this last week she came out as a boy. Not like she is a boy (which for the record, I would be very supportive of any gender discussion) but more like my girl baby literally surprised me by having full boy parts.
- Whoa, this Chinese gymnast Fan Yilin is the youngest looking tiny thing ever. Google her.
- I found out in research this week that baby’s birth weight doesn’t necessarily impact how difficult or easy baby is to push out. 10 lbs or 6 lbs…. it’s more about head size, bc well that is one hell of a shape to push between the legs.
- Also was reminded by my Dr. ever so subtly this week that her whole hand + wrist and part forearm will one day soon be up my vagina just to “check” on things. She said I’m lucky she has skinny fingers. But uhhh…. I took a look at the wrist while she was talking and was unimpressed with the skinniness of that. So fingers schmingers.
- Sitting on an airplane while 32 weeks pregnant… never, ever again.
- I am sort of eating less now than I was previous week’s ago. Not out of my wishes or because I don’t have the appetite. But bc literally, I cannot fit it in the mid-section. Last week I laid on the ground directly after dinner.
- Feet are swollen. I tried wearing shoes (not sandals) today for the first-time in… can’t remember. Blisters on both heels. So I’m wearing flip flops into the office tomorrow.
- How old are the Chinese gymnastics team? They are weightless. Like feathers. Tiny little feathers. I wish I felt like a feather right now.
- I plan on getting baby’s room a little more together in week 33. Which is entirely realistic since “a little more together” involves doing anything for the room at all.
- Someone at work this week told me about a 12.5 pounder born to one of their friends. Uhhh?
- Brought 32 week old baby on the lake.

Bring it on week 33. Make it go kind of fast.
