“More people die with their gifts inside of them than their gift unwrapped” — Pastor Michael Todd
So many of us are wandering around the earth wondering what we’re really here for.
And sometimes it can be pretty hard to truly grasp the answer to this question “what am I here for?”
Any answer would be better than none really.
But where do we even start in order to answer this dreadful question?
First of all, you have to know that you have a gift inside of you.
And that gift was not given to you because you are the most qualified or because you have lots of money or anything like that.
A gift was given to each and everyone of us even before we were born just because of pure Love.
You were put on this earth with a gift and a purpose just for the sake of Love.
The real question is not “what is your gift?” but rather,
“Are you willing to discover your gift, unwrap it and truly use it?”
I must warn you, unwrapping your gift is one thing and using it is another.
It is not going to be easy.
And you’ll have to make sacrifices.
For instance, you’ll have to be willing to give up your ways of using this gift.
Yes, you were given a gift.
No, you were not given instructions on how to actually use it.
So you might be wondering “how am I supposed to use that gift if I was not even told how to use it or even what to do with it?”
You just have to have faith.
I know it seems like a stretch for some of you but you really have to believe that not only will God make a great use of that gift through you but you also have to believe that YOU will make great use of that gift too.
You see, you cannot hide your gift behind things such as insecurities or fear.
You cannot have a gift and then think that you’re undeserving of it so you’ll just sit this one out.
What is the point of having a gift and then leaving it in the closet?
You cannot sleep on your gift!
You cannot sleep on your gift because you’re scared or because you feel unqualified or because people tell you that you cannot do it.
You simply can’t!
So what else is there to do?
You have to stand up
Stand up for your gift.
Stand up for yourself.
And that means that you have to be authentic.
You cannot look at how everybody else is using their gifts or how they look or act or talk etc…
The only thing that we can all do is just be ourselves.
Some of you might be wondering, “yeah but how do we ‘be ourselves’? everybody always says ‘be yourself! be yourself!’ but it’s easier said than done!”
Actually, being yourself is not that hard.
What we don’t realize is that we were all born authentic.
We were all born with a certain knowledge of who we are and what we’re supposed to do.
But because we were all born as babies who still need to grow and develop and learn, we then started to look at others for answers about who we are and who we’re supposed to be.
And that’s when they start to put a vision that they have for us but that vision is not necessarily who we were meant to be.
Actually, 100% of the time, people have no idea of who we were meant to be and what we were meant to do.
I mean, how could they?
They are also trying to figure out who they are and what they are meant to do so how would they know about us when they don’t even know about themselves?
That is why you have to be authentic and have faith.
You have to have faith that you’ll just go back to who you were initially meant to be.
You have to have faith that you’ll just end up doing what you were meant to do.
And I know that some of you might be getting frustrated reading this article and you might be screaming at the top of your lungs: “YES! BUT HOW?!”
I don’t really know what to tell you…
There really is no real instructions on being authentic or being yourself or being who you were meant to be.
When your life is aligned with what you were meant to do and who you were meant to be, you’ll just know!
I’m not saying that it will just be sunshine and rainbows, afterall, rain and storms make the most beautiful rainbows!
It’ll definitely be hard and frustrating and confusing and you’ll definitely feel lost plenty of times on your journey but that’s all right!
You just have to believe that in the end, all of this is for a purpose.
All of this is so that you can unwrap your gift and truly use it way beyond the best of it’s abilities.
You have to believe that you are here for greatness and that whatever happens, whatever you have to do and no matter how many times you fall or get lost, this is all so that you can truly be the greatness that you were suppose to be.
Trust in yourself.
Trust in your gift.
Trust in God.
Whatever you were put on this earth for, it is not to torment you.
It is so that you can be a greatness not only for yourself but for the world.
We are all here to be each other’s greatnesses in one way or another.
Our greatness is not meant for us only to keep and lock into a closet because we’re scared that somebody else will steal it or we’re scared that we’ll damage it ourselves!
Our greatness it meant for the whole world so that we can help make it better and better.
That doesn’t mean that you need to have everybody’s eyes on you, supporting you and admiring your gift, that means that the more we let our greatness pour out of us and into the world, the greater our world would be.
My question to you is,
Are you going to let your gift be unwrapped or are you going to unwrap it and use it for all of it’s beauty and greatness?
