We live in a society that makes us feel alone and lonely because we live in a society that doesn’t value “singleness”.

What does being “single” really means?

When you are single, a lot of time people will have that same reaction for you “Awww, it’s ok! You’re going to find someone!”

As if it was not ok to be single because it is the saddest thing ever and we need to get rid of it fast.

But what we don’t understand is that you are always going to be single.

If we look at the definition of “single” here’s what it says:

— only one in number
— one only
— unique
— made of only one part
— separate, particular, or distinct
— the only

If we analyze all those definitions, being single has nothing to do with sadness.

Being single simply means being one whole entity that is unique and that is made of only one part.

So in the end, even if you are with someone or you are alone, you are still single because you are one whole entity in and of itself.

You are not one piece of somebody else’s whole.
