Take the #kickyourasssunday Challenge
What if I challenged you to make your Sundays productive and meaningful… from #sundayfunday to #kickyourasssunday.
So what exactly is #kickyourasssunday? It’s mentally and physically preparing for the week ahead and giving your week a fresh start. You’ll get things done that will save you time during the week, and by getting organized, it will help lower your stress levels.
It’s making your Sundays productive AND relaxing. It’s making you feel better and more confident about yourself and your life. This can totally change your outlook for the week in a positive way.
I know what you’re thinking… “this lady is crazy.. Sundays are for relaxing and wringing every last possible moment of freedom out of the weekend.”
But I think you can do all this while also making sure your life is easier throughout the week. Think about it… there are so many things you could do on Sunday to make each weekday a little less hectic.
Tasks like cooking, cleaning up, running into the grocery store, setting out your clothes for the week add up and takes time after an already long workday. This can make your week so much more stressful, by adding up little by little. Sunday is a very important day because it’s the beginning to a new week, and who wouldn’t want to start their week out strong?
Not quite sure this is the challenge for you? Try it for just one weekend and see how it goes. I’m positive you could easily think of a quick list of things that you could get done on Sunday to help future you throughout the week.
Set Your Goals for the Week
First, think about your own goals for the week ahead. What are some of the goals you are currently working on? Like eating healthier or hitting the gym more often, or even just to knock out one or two errands.
What are some goals that you have for the week itself? Are there things that need to get done in order to help yourself accomplish that? This can be a great start to coming up with your own version of #kickyourasssunday. Here are some things that I like to get done on Sunday to help me out with the week.
Meal Prepping on Sunday
One of my long-standing goals is to eat healthier and not spend so much money on take-out, delivery, or eating out. You can probably relate! But this goal can be very difficult to achieve when working long hours, dealing with meetings, traffic, appointments, and having a social life.
There are also other things that can and do pop up during the week, like last-minute happy hours and flat tires. To help myself achieve my goal of eating more home-cooked meals and allow myself for a smoother week, I meal prep.
Planning for, shopping, and preparing your meals for the week can actually save you a tremendous amount of time. It can also help you prevent from buying wasted groceries, or ordering takeout because there just isn’t enough time to cook dinner. I highly suggest adding this to your list.

Quickly Organize the House
Another important item for me is getting the house in order. For me, one of the worst things is coming home after work and walking into a house that is dirty, with a sink is full of dishes, and realizing I have no clean workout clothes.
An easy way to relieve this stress is to clean up on Sundays. The previous week all add up to make things a little disheveled, so Sunday is the perfect day to get everything in order.
Get your laundry done, do the dishes, pick up junk around the house, or whatever else. This can help the busy week ahead feel a little better.
Other Challenge ideas:
- Completing a kick-ass work out — this is where #kickyourasssunday originated from. Getting a workout in in the morning, even if you spend the rest of the day laying around, will make you feel much more accomplished.
- Updating/checking your planner for what’s upcoming or missed from the past week.
- Getting your long-term plans actually planned and set in stone, whether it’s an errand, spending time with a friend, or scheduling that workout class.
What you want to get accomplished on Sunday is completely up to you. We all have different lives, schedules, and jobs. And if you are one of those overachievers, don’t expect to get everything done on Sunday. And if you’re a procrastinator, don’t think you have to revamp everything!
Take the Challenge for yourself
This #kickyourasssunday challenge is just meant for you to get a head start on the week and make your life a little less hectic.
All that being said, you still need to relax on Sundays! I like to knock out everything in the morning or early afternoon and leave the evening to relax, watch my favorite shows, or see what’s new on social media. I end up feeling much more relaxed because I got so much done earlier in the day. The when is totally up to you.
Get started now! Make your own list, try it out next Sunday, and see how it goes. Then, you can make changes about what was really helpful and which tasks were actually realistic. You may even start to love #kickyourasssunday.
