I got re-routed to Calgary last night and I was ready for adventure.

But nothing happened.

You might be thinking, why am I writing about an uneventful night? Well, I think it’s just as important to celebrate those ‘nothing days’ as much as the crazy days. Adopting an openness to life is… enjoying when nothing happens too. It pumps me up for whatever will happen next. If every single time you went out was an ‘amazing experience’ it would eventually get boring. Instead we’re on our toes. Drive-by photographers are just like those National Geographic photographers that wait for weeks to capture a special moment. We stay ready until the next special encounter. That’s our job: stay ready.

I met Raizel (@_raiz) at the airport this morning. She’s a professional beer taster. She was flying to Belgium for a beer tasting festival. I recommended she try the Duvel, the ‘devil’s beer’, while she gets there. It’s one of those high-end beers that you have to drink from a special glass
