Friday. The parking lot is still wet from late afternoon rain, the sky breaking out of its grey prison into the freedom of an August sunset. Leaning over a second story balcony with a cigarette and beer, I begin to smile. My mind is gin clear, and I can once again see the world as good. There are moments, real moments, where a rain washes more than hotel windows.
