Younger Battles

Most teenagers are not “alright”. Most people are not.

Occasionally I hear a coach related a students on field performance to what his home life might be like, relationships, or schools struggles.

I struggle to keep in the front of my mind that I’m here for someone else.

Not until trouble and heartache and sorrow came into my own life could I fully comprehend the words “Let us be kind, one to another, for most of us are fighting a hard battle.”

It’s easy to say the students battles are small, because you are older and what you fought as a teenager is miniscule now.

How did you feel about those “small” problems at the time?

What will matter in a person's life longer? Physical agility or emotional agility? Overcoming adversity in a game or overcoming adversity in life? You can teach both.
