Bob Dylan’s Song To Woody at 1:48
Come with the dust, gone with the wind
My favourite Dylan song, already packed in my desert island swag. I believe it’s the first original he recorded, but I discovered it surprisingly late in my Bob-odyssey. “Here’s to the hearts and the hands of the men / That come with the dust and are gone with the wind.” For me, the lyrics, the unhurried guitar picking, and that one long-held vocal note in the early Dylan voice combine to make this a 15-second microcosm of American folk music.
