NHMC Welcomes 2018 Google Policy Fellow José Luis Muñoz

This week the National Hispanic Media Coalition’s (NHMC) DC policy team welcomed José L. Muñoz, an incoming Master of Public Administration student at the Harvard Kennedy School of Government, in Washington, D.C. as our summer 2018 Google Public Policy Fellow. The Google Policy Fellowship is a highly-selective summer employment program. Google provides stipends to students to work on Internet and technology policy issues at non-profit organizations, like NHMC.

José has dedicated his entire adult life to public service beginning with his enlistment in the U.S. Air Force as a Predator Drone operator. Upon completing his military service, José held roles at the U.S. State Department, National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency and most recently at the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. José holds an MBA from IE Business School and a B.S. in Management from Pepperdine University. Jose’s decorations include two Aerial Achievement Medals and a U.S. State Department Meritorious Honor Award.

We are looking forward to having José as part of the DC policy team, helping us analyze telecommunications policies to ensure that the Latino community maintains equal access to technology. In his spare time, José enjoys wine tasting, Spanish language poetry, and urban cycling.
