“East Los High” season 4 is available July 15 on Hulu.

From newly-minted adaptations of hit Latin American dramas (Queen of the South, USA Network), to established fan-favorites (Devious Maids, Lifetime; Suits, USA), to online binge-watching phenomena (East Los High, Hulu; Orange is the New Black, Netflix) and prime-time children’s programming (Stuck in the Middle; Elena of Avalor, Disney Channel), this season finds an increasingly diverse range of Latino representation both on and off screen.

While the National Hispanic Media Coalition continues to hold TV networks accountable to the public on diversity, with the goal of achieving full inclusion and accurate portrayals of Latinos in popular media, we support the work done this summer to promote Latino representation in television. Fans can also support on-screen diversity by tuning into some of the 2016 summer season’s most anticipated and critically acclaimed shows. We’ve curated a list of current and upcoming shows that highlight creatives in our community, all featuring regular Latino cast members in front of the camera and many with Latino writers behind the scenes.

Among this season’s noteworthy Latino ensembles, we’re extremely excited to catch the latest work by individuals who have earned NHMC Impact Awards for their on-screen performances. They include: Justina Machado (Queen of the South, USA); Roselyn Sanchez and Judy Reyes (Devious Maids, Lifetime); and Gina Torres (Suits, USA). This year’s Impact Award winner for Outstanding Online Series, Hulu’s East Los High, will also return with its all-Latino cast.

“Elena of Avalor” premieres July 22 on Disney Channel.

Disney’s first Latina princess will premiere this summer in Elena of Avalor. Silvia Olivas, head writer of the show, is an example of the positive impact that diversity has behind the camera as well. Silvia is one of many alumni of NHMC’s Television Writers Program who have also been working on shows airing this season. Other summer shows that have brought on writers program alum include: Queen of the South, Devious Maids, and East Los High.
