In 2017, Launch School kicked off a new webinar series called Tech and Talk. Tech and Talk is a virtual meetup for the greater Launch School community, created to facilitate the sharing and demonstration of interesting tech topics. Tech and Talk events are a great opportunity for our community members to connect, learn from each other, and share experiences.
What sort of topics are covered?
Previous and upcoming Tech and Talk presentations cover a variety of interesting technical topics including Intro to React, Regular Expressions, Debugging with Pry, and Client-Side Projects with Firebase.
Other popular presentations touch on topics that are invaluable as students advance through the Launch School curriculum, such as: Problem Solving Using PEDAC, and how to set and achieve the right kind of goals with consistent habits.
Presentations typically include live demonstrations of the topics covered, as well as the ability for attendees to participate in a Q & A with the presenter.
Who can participate?
Anyone who has completed free registration with Launch School is invited to attend Tech and Talk events.
We also welcome students to submit topic ideas of their own. Launch School students come from a variety of backgrounds and experiences; there have been some excellent topics covered by students who are currently working through various courses in our curriculum. Launch School is currently offering a $100 credit for student presentations. Are you knowledgeable or experienced in a technical topic for which you could provide an introductory-level presentation? Have you been exploring a new tool that you can demonstrate for others? We encourage you to engage with the Launch School community and get involved!
