Launchgarage Mentor Highlight: Erik Lacson
Erik is currently the Chief Technology Officer of ProudCloud, a deep-tech research and consulting company based in Manila, Philippines, working on IoT, AI and Blockchain applications. He’s personally passionate about, but not limited to, technology projects for public service, social development, or environmental protection.
He is a technology professional with over 15 years of strong experience in building and leading teams to deliver technology-driven products. A practicing hardware hacker and full-stack coder, Erik has worked with open hardware, IoT, embedded microcontrollers, and single-board computer systems, software-defined radio with extensive experience in Python, C, and JavaScript. His technical proficiency combined with a practical understanding of organizational processes and strategic vision allows him to steer his technical teams from big-picture goals into tangible results. Erik has served in a broad range of roles on various projects for private companies, government agencies, and multilateral development organizations.
He’s a Technology Development Consultant of Asia Development Bank in their Office of Co-financing Operations, providing management and advisory in developing information systems for monitoring of cofinance projects. He also served as a Technology Strategy Advisor for Transparency International Philippines where he directly advised Executive Director in developing a technology-driven strategy for reporting and monitoring graft and corruption. This included giving guidance on the application of Lean and Agile principles in leveraging social media as a platform for citizen reporting
Erik has been certified as a Blockchain Expert by the Blockchain Council based in Walnut, California.
