LaunchGarden Will Grow on the Sapphire ParaTime

We’re excited to announce that LaunchGarden will blossom on Oasis’ Sapphire ParaTime! With our technical development proceeding as planned, we’re confident that LG will be among the first decentralized applications to launch on this parachain, sowing the seeds for more great projects to come.

However, because we are a crypto launchpad/fundraising platform, we have a couple of contingencies that must be met before announcing a definitive launch date:

• There must be at least one functioning decentralized exchange (DEX) on Sapphire where you can purchase Garden tokens ($GRDN).
• There needs to be bridged USDT/USDC on Sapphire that can be used for LaunchGarden’s fundraising.

Oasis Network’s Distinct Multi-Layer Architecture

Oasis has become the leading privacy-focused Layer-1 blockchain because of its unique proprietary construction. The network has been built into two separate components: the Consensus Layer and the ParaTime layer. This uncoupling lets several ParaTimes process transactions simultaneously side-by-side, not interrupting those on another, each writing their individual transactions to the Consensus Layer.

So what’s the difference between the two layers?

• Consensus Layer (Layer 1): Handles block production and verification; accepts ParaTime transactions and executions, then writes them into the next block. Essentially enforces the network rules, making sure nodes follow protocol to maintain consensus, thereby reducing complexity and decreasing possible problems. This provides scalable, safe proof-of-stake (PoS) consensus run by decentralized validator nodes.
• ParaTime Layer (Layer 2): The smart contract execution layer hosting several decentralized parallel runtimes, or ParaTimes, like Cipher, Emerald, and Sapphire. They’re customizable, flexible environments where developers can build their dapps with the necessary balance of privacy, security, and performance. ParaTimes also possess almost endless possibilities, as they can run different virtual machines (VMs) like the popular Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) and can be permission or permissionless

One of three current ParaTimes, Sapphire is Oasis’ first and only official confidential EVM that also provides Solidity tool chain support. Now developers have a place to build privacy-focused dapps, partaking in the new responsible data economy the Oasis Network ecosystem will create. But Sapphire’s perks don’t stop there.
