There’s a difference between being busy and productive. If you had asked last year what Ramadan 2020 would look like, I would never have expected to say under ‘lockdown’. None of us would right?

Think about how our world has changed, 2020 will be a year that’ll go down in history. But how we continue with important conversations will be key to building a post-COVID world.

The daily updates from the media have become background noise, and now more and more people need a different outlet. It’s a balance, right?

There’s a niche for important conversations from Religion, business, and health. A plethora of podcasts are available for you to choose from. Here are my top picks to help you balance out Ramadan.

1. Honest Tea Talk

A show where 3 Muslim women get together and have honest conversations about the things we desperately need to talk about, like advice to your younger self, when you’re tested and what happiness really means. It’s different for everyone and sometimes we become caught up on trying to live a perfect life.

2. Freshly Grounded

Meet entrepreneurs Faisal and Sam who have those important discussions about leadership, world events, and with guests like Sonny Williams you can capture a variety of stories. But it’s also about bringing those humble beginnings and practical advice.

They speak about the journey of starting businesses whilst not forgetting to be patient. There are topics about chasing wealth and how the money will arrive and as long as you’re doing good you will be in a better place. It’s times like this where you can be honest and not feel as judged. We’re all going through our own struggles but can collectively support each other. Faisal jokes about how it took a while to find a routine during the lockdown and shares his tips on productivity.

3. DiscoverU

It would be a lie to say we don’t all have some fear during this time. There’s a lot of anxiety and mental health aspects where people may feel like they have no one to turn to. Sure social media can consume you and make it all feel harder to manage but having important discussions can help you feel like you’re not alone. Some of the ways you can help each other are by looking at supporting one another, sharing content that you feel is relevant but will help people raise awareness. We’re going through a period where more and more people are raising their voices through kindness but having important debates.
