LaunchGood Stands with Muzmatch
Match Group (owner of Tinder/Hinge and 50+ other dating services) are suing Muzmatch in the UK and the US. Muzmatch is a small startup fighting to defend themselves against the largest dating company in the world. The trial is set for 17th/18th Jan in the UK courts. STATEMENT:
We stand with Muzmatch as they face down a lawsuit from Match Group, the $35 billion company that owns Tinder, Hinge, and over 50 other dating sites.
As Muslim creatives, entrepreneurs and businesses, we know how much effort and sacrifice goes into realizing products that cater to the specific needs of our communities and cultures.
The dilemma facing Muzmatch should concern us all. If giant companies can pursue legal action geared at putting smaller competitors out of business, this will have a significant chilling effect on other independent entrepreneurs and creatives who simply want to realize a dream.
Our communities deserve products and services that cater to their needs just like anyone else. Our prayers are with Muzmatch and its staff as they bravely fight for their right to continue doing good.
