Existing membership site platforms are oftentimes built as an afterthought to blogging platforms, or require extensive time and coding knowledge to get set up. With Slack and LaunchPass, you can start charging for access to your community and content within minutes, so you can focus on whats important- your work. The advantages of having a paid Slack communities are numerous, and we’ve written about them before, a few of highlights include:

Having your inner circle in one place: having your community in one place is massively beneficial to knowing how they connect with your work. The people who want to have that inside line to you and what you create are the ones who engage most with your content. Having real time conversations with them in a chat room setting helps you to understand how others interact with what you do.

Troll-free communities: one of the worst parts of most free social media is the trolls. Whether it’s Facebook groups, YouTube, Twitter or Reddit, internet trolls come out to ruin the conversation, offending and disrupting everywhere they go. With even a small pay wall, the rampant trolling is entirely taken care of. People generally won’t spend 10 dollars a month to troll, and if they do, you can simply kick them out of the group!

The ability to fund your work: getting direct funding from your community is a great way to be able to do what you love while getting paid for it. The time of content creators being the honey to help the ads go down is coming to a close (YouTube gives creators a mere 55% of what they make off of them). Subscription pricing for content is becoming the norm for creators to make a living. Being funded directly by those who love your work is becoming more feasible as the ability to set up communities, membership sites and content distribution systems gets easier and easier with no coding necessary!

These are just a few of the reasons why having an exclusive, membership community is awesome. But how do you create one? With LaunchPass, it’s super simple.
