The Rosewood Hotel Georgia roared into life in 1927 to instant and sustained success. For my very first time visiting Vancouver, British Columbia, I had to see the historic hotel that was grand enough to host Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip, not to mention entertainment royalty from The Beatles to the Rolling Stones. My husband was up for a spontaneous romantic getaway, so we packed up and were on our way in days for a one-nighter (useful planning tip: one night isn’t enough). Simply put, this hotel deserves all five glittering stars. Why? Read on.

Counting down the top 5 Rosewood Hotel Georgia features:

#5 A straight-from-the-spa bathtub.

The centrepiece of the en-suite bathroom in the Deluxe Room category is the stylish, modern stand-alone bathtub. The hotel provides lovely smelling bath minerals for a spa-in-the-room experience. As pampering is good for one’s soul, it follows that a getaway here could be just the nurturing break needed for today’s breakneck pace.

#4 Pampering space in every room.

Most of the rooms in the hotel would be considered suites by many. The extra-long room found in the Deluxe Room category combines the bedroom and lounge. The sitting area half of the room is shown above. The well-designed extra space gives this hotel an edge in Vancouver’s highly competitive luxury market.

#3 The magical open-to-the-air terrace restaurant with a garden party feel.

You’ll find Reflections on the fourth floor terrace. Its disappearing roof is ready for sunny days, misty nights and everything in-between. The fairy light swag in the branches above adds magic to the ambiance. The modern block gas firepits and approachably sophisticated garden seating make this a must-see in Vancouver.

#2 The breathtaking pool.

Rosewood Hotels is already famous for their spas and spa-like amenities, so it’s natural that this glittering wonder is a feature. You’ll need to go looking for it though as it’s tucked away near the spa. Beyond that little tip, the pool really doesn’t need a description, does it? Just look at it!

#1 An incredible location that puts guests within walking distance to mountain trails, a swimming beach, public markets and urban shops. Wow.

I can’t stress this point enough —Rosewood Hotel Georgia couldn’t be better positioned for holiday fun-seekers, foodies, family trips, nature lovers, beach goers or solo adventurers. Vancouver itself is, in my opinion, the best city on the continent of North America because it actually does have it all. The hotel’s awe-inspiring walkable proximity to trendy Pacific Centre shops, the artisan flair of Granville Island’s public market, the lengths of beautiful English Bay Beach (Who knew a downtown public beach that looks like it was wished into being actually exists?), Stanley Park (don’t be deceived by the name — this park is a 400-hectacre temperate rainforest with a tea room) and directly across from the Vancouver Art Gallery, should be the envy of all hotels everywhere. Maybe it is!

My advice: don’t hesitate!

There isn’t a single downside to staying at the Rosewood Hotel Georgia and more upsides than I can count or recount. It’s my hope that this top-five list holds enough of them for you to imagine the rest. If you’re looking to reserve a room, you can do this easily via the hotel’s specials page. Note: I don’t receive a single American or Canadian penny if you use this link, so feel free to find the hotel via your favourite channels! Did you decide to visit? Please drop me a line and tell me all about it.
