Emergency Plane Landings & Spies

About 40 minutes into our flight from Amsterdam to Berlin, the plane cabin staff started running up and down the aisles, pulling various medical kits and monitors from the overhead compartments. A middle-aged man about 5 rows behind where Emma and I were sitting was laying the the middle of the aisle and receiving medical attention from a doctor onboard. We made a quick detour to Hamburg and made an emergency medical landing for the paramedics to take the patient off the plane.

After on of the most eventful flights of both of our lives, Emma and I finally landed in Berlin about 2 hours later than was scheduled (and we do not know what happened to the man, so send prayers for him and his family). Although we were exhausted from our 5:30 am start to the day, we rallied and kicked off our time in Berlin with the German Spy Museum, a museum that told the history of espionage all over the world and how it has developed over time.

A lot of the exhibits were interactive, allowing visitors to attempt “missions” as if they were spies. Our two favorites are shown above. One involved the science behind invisible ink (science nerd me was hyped as you can see by the lab coat and googles), and the other involved debugging a office in only a minute, and Emma won! We had a really good time (even though I didn’t read all the directions on the science station because I thought I was smart enough without it) and cannot wait to keep exploring Berlin.
