Gather Your Cosmic Energies — It’s A Total Eclipse Of The Sun
The first time I ever saw a full solar eclipse was August 11, 1999. I was lucky as I was living in Romania at the time which happened to be the highest point of the eclipse. So together with my brother and some of our friends, we headed up to the mountains to be in the exact spot of the maximum point. As we were camping in the mountains the night before, gathered around a campfire singing songs and enjoying our time together, this crazy storm came out of nowhere. It started pouring so fast that we could barely grab our things and run to the tents. We didn’t even have to put out the fire as it was out within minutes — the rain was that heavy. The next day there were no clouds in the sky as we hiked to the top of a cliff armed with our eclipse glasses, photo cameras and not much else.
It’s been 18 years and 10 days since then. Today as I make my way to the top of a different mountain to see yet another Full Solar Eclipse, on a different continent, in what feels like a different world, I can’t help but wonder how much the world has changed and how much it has really stayed the same. 18 years ago, I had no idea where life would take me or that I would be where I am now. I had only left the country once, now I’ve not only been to 5 continents, but I’ve also lived on 4 of them. Back then I had dreams, now I have accomplishments.
According to Susan Miller of Astrology Zone “Eclipses are dramatic “wild cards” in our horoscopes. They are some of the most dramatic tools that the universe uses to get us to pay attention to areas in our life that need to change. They uproot us, surprise us, and get us moving. They shake us out of our feelings of compliancy so that we can move from one level of maturity to another, to a higher plane, and they work very rapidly. Eclipses want us to change, and change we do!”
As I make my way to another eclipse, feeling grateful for being able to experience this phenomenon twice in my lifetime, I can’t help but wonder what’s next, how will my life be different in the next 18 years. Will I see the next full solar eclipse on July 2, 2019 in Argentina or Chile? Or maybe the one after that in Asia on December 26, 2020? Life has taken me all over the world in the past 18 years, where will it take me next?
