For Our Mother, For Our Children
A dear friend of mine is celebrating his 40th birthday today. To celebrate, he called me on the phone — who even DOES that anymore? — and when he did not get me in person, he left me a wonderful long voicemail message telling me that since this was a very special birthday to him, that he was calling 40 of his most special friends. He then proceeded to tell me how special I was and how much he looked forward to our future adventures and connections together. What a lovely thing to do, and what a beautiful tradition to start. How we connect to each other in the smallest time increments of our lives is what often leaves the biggest imprints on our hearts. Quality, not necessarily quantity, is the name of the connection game.
He also requested that people donate to these wonderful organizations that work diligently to protect the Amazon Rainforest — link below. Because at the end of the day, what we humans destroy will leave an even bigger imprint on the hearts of our progeny.
What would you like your imprint to look like?
When I was growing up, I was taught to leave no trace in all the places I pitched my tent. The only imprints I would like to leave behind are the loving kind, the inspirational kind. I don’t need forests to be destroyed, so I can have more STUFF to leave behind.
How about you?
Thank you for your support.
