Our Terra, she will survive us
To not be overwhelmed
with what we have done
for centuries, to our Mother
to look beyond what would
happen as evolution aged her
in coming millennia, bereft
as we left her a dying parent
when we flew from home
on eternal wings never to
return from endless voyages.
To care only about the centuries to come
I leave my body to her care
planting a seed in my ashes
so that a tree may grow where
my heart lay weeping on her bosom.
