The Law School Life & Beyond team identified a gap in communication between prospective law students and current law students and legal professionals. The day-to-day tasks of law students and legal professionals are often mysterious to prospective students without a personal connection to someone practicing law.

Law school is a substantial investment, both financially and mentally. Given the investment, we aim to reduce this gap as much as practically possible. Our goal is to host question-and-answer sessions, to be held virtually until physical meetings become permissible and safe, with interested high school and undergraduate students. These meetings will take place on a sign-up basis and are also open to faculty and parents.

Our intention is not to outline LSAT prep, BAR exam prep, or admissions processes, as these areas are already covered in the marketplace. Our goal is to highlight our experiences, which range across law schools and areas of practice, as law school students, graduates and future lawyers. These question-and-answer sessions will address any questions students have regarding how to network, explore co-op or volunteer opportunities, what a day in law school looks like and what a day of practicing law looks like. These, along with any other general questions, would be welcomed so that students and parents could better understand the legal career path and their potential interest in it.
